Two San Antonio-area prospects, Kayson Cunningham and Ethan Salas, have been selected to represent the Alamo City in the 2026 All-Star Futures Game. Cunningham, a San Antonio native and 2025 Johnson High School graduate, was drafted in the first round by the Diamondbacks in 2025 with the 18th pick overall.
Local Talent on Display
Cunningham is currently playing for the Hillsboro Hops, the High-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, and has had 238 at-bats, hitting .340, 36 RBIs, two home runs, and 14 stolen bases this season. Salas, the top-ranked prospect in the San Diego Padres organization and No. 34 overall, is a catcher for the San Antonio Missions and has been hitting .277 with 10 doubles, seven home runs, 33 RBIs, and 13 stolen bases.
The prospect showcase will be played at 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 12, at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia as part of All-Star Week. The game will air on NBC.
