A family has shared fond memories of celebrating Independence Day in Naperville. For several years after moving to Naperville in 1993, they spent Independence Day with their aunt at her summer house on Lake Freeman near Indiana Beach.
Fireworks and Family Traditions
Fireworks shot off from pontoons were a highlight of their celebrations. One year, a silly question sent the adults into a portrayal of the classic ‘Three Wise Monkeys,’ representing the proverbial saying, ‘See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.’ A photo of this moment is framed and remains a cherished family keepsake.
The City of Naperville and Naperville Park District will host their annual fireworks display at Frontier Park on July 4, 2026, starting at dusk.
