Gary Leffler of Altoona, Iowa, will showcase his patriotic tractor in Washington, D.C.’s Independence Day Parade on Saturday, July 4, to commemorate America’s 250th birthday.
A Family’s Tradition of Service
Leffler’s specially painted tractor has appeared in hundreds of parades and events, including President Donald Trump’s Inauguration Parade in 2025. The tractor’s transformation was a labor of love rooted in honor, as Leffler’s son is a major in the Army and there are 14 names of service people in their family who have served in the United States military.
Leffler’s wife and two of his 10 grandchildren will join him in Washington, D.C., for the parade. State Representative and former Iowa gubernatorial candidate Eddie Andrews is also planning to join the family.
