Sheridan County’s Commissioners considered adopting the 2026 Annual Wildland Fire Management Operation Plan during their last regular meeting. County Fire Warden Chris Thomas discussed the plan with the commission. According to the document, the agreement covers lands in Sheridan, Johnson, and Campbell Counties.
The commission voted to approve the Wildland Fire Management Operation Plan, which includes a change in the mutual aid period that all the districts and all the three counties agreed to, basically going to a universal stop time of midnight. This change makes paperwork easier. Other than that, the plan is pretty much identical to last year.
