Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont has activated the state’s extreme hot weather protocol as dangerously high temperatures and humidity are expected through the Fourth of July weekend.
Heat Watch Issued
An Extreme Heat Watch has been issued for most of the state from Wednesday through Friday, with temperatures expected to climb into the mid- to upper 90s and potentially reaching 100 degrees on Thursday and Friday.
Cooling centers will open across Connecticut for anyone who needs relief from the heat. Residents can find the nearest cooling center by visiting 211ct.org or by calling 2-1-1.
The protocol helps coordinate state agencies, municipalities, and emergency management officials to share information about cooling centers and respond to any requests for assistance.
