Viktor Hovland is in the lead at the Travelers Championship after a strong performance on Saturday. He played alongside Scottie Scheffler and finished with a 6-under 64, giving him a one-shot lead over the world’s No. 1 player.
Strong Performance
Hovland started two shots behind Scheffler but caught up after four holes, with three birdies. The two players then matched mostly pars, with two birdies and one bogey, until the 18th hole, where Hovland took the lead.
The Norwegian star had a strong support system, with a Norway contingent in the crowd cheering him on. They even did the traditional Norwegian chant, ‘Ro, ro, ro,’ as Hovland approached the 18th green.
Scheffler is not out of the running yet, and he is confident that he can still win the championship. ‘This is a golf course where you can see some numbers be shot. You know, guys can shoot pretty low,’ he said. Hovland and Scheffler will play together again on Sunday, and it will be an exciting match to watch.
