New Haven’s Common Ground High School marked a proud milestone this week as the school celebrated its latest graduating class, with 11 students earning a special environmental honor alongside their diplomas, according to the New Haven Register.
Common Ground, long known for its unique focus on urban farming and environmental education, sent another class of graduates into the world equipped with both academic credentials and a deep connection to sustainability. The recognition of 11 graduates with an environmental honor reflects the school’s distinctive mission and the dedication of its students.
The celebration adds to a season of good news at Tweed New Haven Airport as well. Avelo Airlines announced it is expanding service from Tweed-New Haven with new nonstop flights to Aguadilla, Puerto Rico and Houston — giving New Haven-area travelers more direct connections without a trip to a larger regional airport.
Together, these milestones offer a snapshot of a community investing in its young people and its connections to the wider world — a fitting note as summer gets underway in the Elm City.
