A Louisville woman says she’s still searching for justice nearly a year after her sister was fatally shot in the Russell neighborhood.
A Family’s Plea for Answers
For 46 years, Susie Coleman was Keisha Heath’s only sister—ten years younger, but always close. On June 28, 2025, Coleman was one of two women shot on West Madison Street, according to police. She died nearly three days later.
Heath’s family says the shooting followed an altercation, but they struggle to understand how it escalated to gunfire. “She’s missed and I just… I want some justice done, because that’s not right,” Heath said. “You know, she had people that love and care a lot about her. And she had a grandbaby in her arms when it happened. And I think that was cold-blooded. You know, it’s like it could have been dealt with better than that.”
For Heath’s family, that night marked the beginning of a series of heartbreaking losses. “My mother grieved herself to death shortly after she died, September 27th. You know, and my niece got killed on the 13th. So we’ve had a lot of tragedies right now,” Heath said.
Now, they are left with grief and a plea for answers. “I just would like, if anybody knows anything, to please come forward… because it’s very hurtful, you know,” Heath said.
