A highway exit turned fatal on Friday afternoon, leaving a local motorcyclist dead after a single-vehicle accident on State Road 589 in Hillsborough County.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the 61-year-old Tampa man was traveling southbound on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle when he attempted to exit the highway at Waters Avenue. The rider lost control of the vehicle, drifted onto the roadway shoulder, and collided with a tree, suffering fatal injuries.
