Richardson officials have proposed a $665,000 work plan for fiscal year 2026-27 to improve the city’s parks and trails. The plan, presented by Shohn Rodgers, assistant director of parks and recreation, includes trail renovations and repairs at Breckinridge Park and Campbell Ridge Park.
Trail Improvements
The work at Breckinridge Park will focus on addressing grade issues, cracks, and trip hazards in the trail, while the work at Campbell Ridge Park will involve replacing cracked and uneven concrete panels. Additionally, the Breckinridge Park “B” restroom will receive hardware and fixture repair and replacement, as well as paint and foundation work.
The parks department also plans to conduct landscaping work on medians on Plano Road and Jupiter Road. Furthermore, the city will install concrete boardwalks in strategic sections of the Synergy Lakes Trail to address groundwater drainage issues.
Other Projects
Other planned projects include adding security lighting at Richardson Woman’s Club, installing a new fountain at Duck Creek Linear Park, and replacing tennis court fences at Heights Park. The city will also consider requests from neighborhood associations and a garden club for inclusion in next year’s Matching Fund Beautification Program.
