Bossier City, Louisiana, has been allocated more than $44 million in state funding to support various infrastructure improvements, water system enhancements, transportation projects, youth programs, and quality-of-life initiatives.
Projects Receiving State Support
The funding package includes investments in major water infrastructure projects, roadway improvements, recreational amenities, and youth activities that will benefit residents for years to come. Some of the projects receiving state support are:
- $23 million for planning and construction of the city’s new nanofiltration water treatment system.
- $7.7 million for improvements to the Benton Road and I-220 Interchange, including planning and construction.
- $7 million for the U.S. Highway 71 four-lane extension and Colleen Drive improvements project.
- $6.12 million for the Swan Lake/Deen Point waterline extension project.
- $500,000 for citywide roadway striping improvements.
- $350,000 for improvements at the Northgate Road and Patricia Drive intersection.
- $110,000 for the construction of basketball courts, sand volleyball courts and a freeze protection system for the city’s water treatment plant.
- $100,000 for the City’s proposed pump track project.
- $36,000 to support summer youth activities.
Mayor Tommy Chandler expressed his gratitude to Governor Jeff Landry and the Northwest Louisiana legislative delegation for their continued partnership and support of Bossier City. Chief Administrative Officer Shane Cheatham stated that the funding will help position the city for long-term success while addressing critical infrastructure needs.
