A Taste For Life, an event founded by Chef Chris Williams, is returning to Oldham Gardens on Sunday. The event features 30 of the area’s best chefs, making signature dishes from their restaurants. The proceeds will be split evenly between mental health nonprofits NAMI Louisville and The Pete Foundation.
Mental Health Awareness
Pete Foundation president Molly Jones emphasized the importance of normalizing the dialogue surrounding mental health. ‘We need to get rid of the myths about suicide and mental illness,’ Jones said. ‘We need to look at it as just a normal part of our health.’ Chef Williams believes that A Taste For Life has made a difference in starting a conversation about mental health in the service industry.
If you or someone you know needs help, you can talk with the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or sending a text message to 988, or you can chat online.
