Sweden’s World Cup team was surprised to see demolition work at their base camp, Toyota Stadium, in Frisco, Texas. The team, preparing for their final Group F match against Japan, saw mangled metal and demolished construction material on one side of the stadium during their training session.
Renovation Project
The demolition is part of a years-long renovation project at the stadium, which is the home of MLS team FC Dallas. The construction company in charge said the work is being done during scheduled off-hours and has had no impact on the pitch or facilities used by the team.
FC Dallas said in a statement that the work was part of a planned and controlled demolition within an active construction zone. No one was injured during the demolition.
