The 2026 NFL season is just around the corner, with the first training camps opening in about a month. As the NFL dead period continues, projections and predictions are in full swing. Offense

Cam Ward, the Tennessee Titans’ quarterback, is expected to take a big leap in his second year. Despite a subpar rookie campaign, Ward showed improvement, particularly in his completion percentage over expected from Weeks 14-18. With the additions of Carnell Tate and Wan’Dale Robinson, Ward’s arm talent will be put to the test.

Isaac TeSlaa, the Detroit Lions’ wide receiver, is another player to watch. After a promising preseason in 2025, TeSlaa only caught 16 passes in the regular season but managed to score six touchdowns. As the Lions’ No. 3 wide receiver, TeSlaa may outperform Jameson Williams as the No. 2 pass-catcher behind Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Defense

D.J. Redmond, the Minnesota Vikings’ defensive end, is a success story from the recent resurgence of spring football. After going undrafted in 2023, Redmond had a terrific 2024 season with the Arlington Renegades, leading to a deal with the Vikings. With a more solidified role, Redmond can build on his 2025 season and potentially earn a Pro Bowl nod.

R.J. Mickens, the Cleveland Browns’ cornerback, was impressive in 2025, picking off two passes and allowing a catch rate over expected of -42.3 percent. As a sixth-round rookie, Mickens will vie for snaps alongside Elijah Molden and veteran Tony Jefferson.
