Ottumwa Regional Health Center in southeast Iowa has launched a free online birthing education program called Birthly for new and expecting parents. The program offers unlimited access to live, instructor-led classes covering pregnancy, labor, delivery, and newborn care.

Hospital leaders said the virtual format is designed to make it easier for busy families to access the information they need. "When you’re working Monday through Friday, 9 to 5, you don’t want to go on your one day off and sit in a classroom," said Casey Klodt, Director of Women and Family Services at Ottumwa Regional Health Center. "You can do these in the privacy of your home, be comfortable on your couch, and attend the class."
The classes are available to all Ottumwa Regional pregnancy patients, including Spanish-language options. To register for Birthly through ORHC, you can ask your provider for more information or visit ORHC’s website.
