Richardson Mayor Amir Omar and Keelung City Mayor Kuo-Liang Hsieh signed a memorandum of understanding, marking the beginning of a friendship city agreement between the two cities.

The agreement aims to promote cultural exchange opportunities, including youth experiences and language education, as well as networking opportunities for economic development and business partnerships.
According to Mayor Omar, Richardson and Keelung City share a deep belief in innovation, education, and investing in the next generation. Mayor Hsieh highlighted Keelung City’s strategic location and well-developed maritime and land transportation networks, which will facilitate cooperation between the two cities.
City Manager Don Magner emphasized the importance of economic development, international partnerships, and business investment in maintaining the quality of services and the exceptional quality of life for Richardson residents.
