Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer announced the hiring of former Oregon and Stanford assistant Viane Talamaivao to help coach Alabama’s offensive line. Talamaivao was a four-star offensive lineman from Corona, California, in the 2014 recruiting class and was once committed to the University of Alabama before flipping to the USC Trojans on signing day.
Coaching Experience
After his playing days, the former standout offensive lineman was an assistant offensive line coach at USC before making his way to Oregon, where he worked alongside new Alabama offensive line coach Adrian Klemm during the 2022 season with the Ducks. He most recently worked as the co-offensive line coach at Stanford.
Talamaivao is the second addition Alabama has made to its coaching staff this week after hiring former South Alabama offensive lineman Noah Fisher, who worked with new tight ends coach Richard Owens at Louisville, to help coach Alabama’s tight ends.
