Matthew Martinez, a Marine Corps and Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran, is running for District 62. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science degree with almost a decade of experience in Higher Education. Martinez previously served a term on the Monte Vista City Council and has passed 58 bills in his 4 years in the legislature, 90% of which are bi-partisan.

Policy Priorities

Martinez’s top priorities include affordability, protection of water, and assisting Veterans. He believes that water policy is critical and will affect the next few years in the district and the state, especially with the impact of climate change on southern Colorado’s water supply.
