Tarrant County District Attorney Phil Sorrells has filed public nuisance lawsuits against the Super 7 Inn and Delux Inn in south Fort Worth, citing the motels as “hubs of criminal activity”. The lawsuits come after Fort Worth Police received nearly 1,700 calls to the motels since 2024, with over 750 calls made to Super 7 Inn and over 930 calls made to Delux Inn.
Crime and Arrests
According to Sorrells, the calls were made for various crimes, including narcotics and weapons violations, aggravated assaults, robberies, and criminal trespassing. Police have made 74 arrests between the two locations, with over 100 alleged criminal offenses. Prostitution, unlawful carrying of a weapon, and disorderly conduct are some of the recurring crimes at the motels.
Sorrells stated, “The level of crime coming out of these motels is unacceptable and out of control. They are a danger to the public and a drain on first responders in this county.” The lawsuits are requesting that the motels’ management clean up the properties or close them.
