Hoover YMCA Unveils New Playgrounds

The Hoover YMCA in Hoover, Alabama, has dedicated two new playgrounds, one indoor and one outdoor, thanks to a $325,000 donation from The Sandlin Foundation for Kids & Kindness.

New Playgrounds

The indoor playground features five climbing levels, all enclosed and netted for safety, with viewing areas and a huge slide. The outdoor playground includes climbing areas, tunnels, viewing scopes, and slides, as well as sensory areas and three canopies for shade.

According to Kristin Harris, executive director of the Hoover YMCA, the goal was to create a space where kids could be active and free. The playgrounds were completed by June 1, just in time for the start of summer day camps.
