49ers Look to Trade Brandon Aiyuk

The San Francisco 49ers are looking to trade wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. The team’s general manager, John Lynch, has stated that it’s ‘safe to say’ Aiyuk’s time with the team is over. The rift between Aiyuk and the 49ers began when the team voided the remaining guaranteed money he was owed on his extension after he didn’t participate in rehab sessions for a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus in his right knee.

Aiyuk’s Future

Tight end George Kittle is wishing whoever gets Aiyuk ‘luck.’ Aiyuk has been speaking out about his frustration with the 49ers, calling the team ‘dumb’ and ‘stupid’ for giving him his extension. He has also claimed the team is scared to release him because of how he might perform elsewhere in the league.

Aiyuk began his career with the 49ers, tallying 24 catches for 374 yards in the 2024 season before getting injured. He broke out with 1,342 yards on 75 receptions and seven touchdowns during the 2023 season, helping the 49ers reach the Super Bowl.
