A $44.5 million Veterans Affairs outpatient clinic broke ground in Round Rock, aiming to provide primary and preventative care, mental health support, and other specialty services to area veterans.
Services and Benefits
The 63,808-square-foot facility will offer mental health counseling and therapy programs, women’s health services, specialty care such as cardiology, orthopedics, and pain management, on-site laboratory and imaging services, pharmacy support, and telehealth services.
The clinic is expected to expand care for 24,000 veterans in Williamson County and surrounding areas, reduce average VA clinic travel times by 60-90 minutes, and create 100 jobs for 12 patient care teams.
Tom Palladino, Texas Veterans Commission executive director, stated that the support the Round Rock clinic will provide is usually only available at the main hospitals. The TVC will work to place health care advocates in the new clinic to help schedule appointments, assist with claims, and resolve billing issues.
Impact and Timeline
The facility is expected to be operational by winter 2027, addressing the growing need for veteran healthcare services in the area. With nearly 40,000 veterans residing in Williamson County, the new clinic will help close the gap in nearby care options.
