A 3-year-old girl from Manchester has died after being struck by a vehicle in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The incident occurred on East Center Street, where a 49-year-old man from Manchester was driving westbound when he struck the child.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene and initiated life-saving measures. The child was transported to Connecticut Children’s, where she later died. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
East Center Street was briefly closed between Goodwin Street and Parker Street but has since reopened. The police are asking anyone with information to come forward and contact Officer Nicholas Sinopoli at (860) 533-8620.
