Austin’s business scene is thriving with new openings and updates. Somisomi, an Asian dessert shop, is now open on N. I-35 frontage road, offering Korean-style taiyaki and soft serve.

New Openings

Other new openings include Alice Poulain, a Parisian-inspired patisserie in South Austin; The Driskill Grill, an American steakhouse in downtown Austin; and CardVault, a card and memorabilia store on W. Third St.

Skincare company Mad Hippie has opened its first storefront on S. Lamar Blvd., and Orion Custom Framing has opened a new location on N. Lamar Blvd.

Expansions and Relocations

El Dorado Cafe is expanding to accommodate more seating and broaden its catering offerings, while women’s boutique Cove has relocated to S. Lamar Blvd.

Bar Hacienda has relocated to Rainey St., and Prototype Vintage will close its South Congress location after 20 years.

Upcoming Openings

Sweet Charli Girl, a gluten-free bakery, will open a mainstay location in North Austin on June 27. Feel Free IV will offer IV therapy and health programs in Northwest Austin starting July 15.

The Fit Ranch, a training and recovery hub, will open in North Loop in late July, and Terrible Love Coffee will expand to include a neighborhood wine bar on Ave. B in August.
