Two people were killed and six others suffered gunshot wounds in a shooting Saturday at a festival celebrating Latino culture in Toronto, police said. The shooting occurred in the area of St. Claire Avenue and Arlington Avenue during the Salsa on St. Clair festival.
Police said at least one gunman was still outstanding. The shooting was reported just before 8:15 p.m. ET, and as of 9:20 p.m., police had secured the scene and were investigating.
Salsa on St. Clair is a two-day festival celebrating Latino culture with music, dance, food, and art. It started Saturday and was set to run through Sunday on Toronto’s St. Clair Avenue.
