An 18-year-old woman was shot while riding in a vehicle on Dixie Highway overnight. At approximately 11 p.m., LMPD responded to reports of a shooting in the 5300 block of Dixie Highway.
Upon arrival, police found the 18-year-old woman who had been shot. She was in the passenger seat of a moving vehicle when she was struck. The woman was transported to the hospital, where she is expected to survive, according to police.
Police said an unknown suspect fled the scene before they arrived. No further details were immediately available. LMPD’s non-fatal shooting squad is currently investigating.
