Roughly 100 middle school football players spent the afternoon working alongside several University of Arizona athletes at the second annual First Down Faith Football Camp on April 17, 2026. The event gave young players a hands-on chance to practice skills, ask questions and learn from college-level competitors in a low-pressure setting.
Leading the day were quarterback Noah Fifita and his brother, Dash, who plays linebacker for the Wildcats. The two helped run drills, demonstrated fundamentals and offered tips on everything from footwork to reading defensive coverages, giving campers a clear look at what it takes to compete at the next level.
Coaches and college players guided groups through stations focused on passing, catching, tackling technique and conditioning. Beyond the on-field work, the camp included time for one-on-one feedback, short talks about teamwork and preparation, and photo and autograph opportunities that made the visit memorable for the youngsters.
Organizers emphasized both athletic development and personal growth, using the camp’s faith-based theme to frame conversations about character, perseverance and responsibility. For many of the participants, the mix of practical coaching and encouragement was as valuable as the drills themselves.
By the end of the day the middle school athletes left with new drills to practice, fresh motivation and direct connections to players they admire. Events like this aim to build skills while also inspiring the next generation of local football players.
