Army veteran and longtime Myrtle Beach resident Ali Alsadiq has opened the newest location of Woofie’s Mobile Pet Care, bringing a full suite of pet‑care services directly to residents’ driveways. The mobile franchise, part of a national brand that combines grooming, dog walking and pet sitting under one roof, held its grand opening on Thursday.
Veteran leadership and personal motivation
Alsadiq, who served in military operations and later worked in customer‑experience roles, said the decision to launch the business was both personal and professional. After adopting his Yorkshire terrier, Dock, following the death of the dog’s previous owner—a mentor and close friend—Alsadiq realized how vital trust, compassion and reliable pet care are for families. “Caring for Dock made me realize how important trust, compassion, and dependable pet care are,” he said in a news release. “At Woofie’s, we strive to provide all three with a complete pet‑care solution.”
Services and staff
Woofie’s Mobile Pet Care offers three core services:
- Mobile grooming performed inside a high‑tech van that travels to the customer’s home.
- Dog walking with GPS tracking and real‑time updates via the company’s app.
- Pet sitting for owners who need in‑home care while away.
The Myrtle Beach team includes certified groomers Tori Van Strander and Lindsey Smith. Van Strander holds Certified Professional Groomer credentials and pet first‑aid/CPR certification, with expertise in curly coats, deshedding and breed‑standard cuts. Smith brings more than a decade of grooming experience, AKC S.A.F.E. certification, and a background growing up on a farm, giving her a broad skill set across many breeds, especially doodles.
How the mobile service works
Customers schedule appointments through the Woofie’s mobile app, which also provides GPS tracking for dog walks and instant updates on service status. The mobile grooming van is equipped with climate‑controlled stations, allowing groomers to handle the wear that sand, heat and humidity can place on pets’ coats along the coastal area. In addition, Woofie’s partners with Pet Vet Connection, a veterinary telehealth service, so owners can consult a veterinarian remotely if questions arise during a visit.
Community involvement and upcoming events
Woofie’s Mobile Pet Care is a presenting sponsor of Pooch‑A‑Mania, a dog‑friendly adoption event set for Sunday, Nov. 8, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Grand Park in Market Common. Attendees will meet Alsadiq, Dock and the grooming team, tour the mobile van, and enjoy a $25 discount on grooming services for new clients. The event will also feature raffle prize baskets valued at $50, $100 and $150, along with dog treats, Woofie’s merchandise and children’s games.
Adoption groups participating include Grand Strand Humane Society, Carolina Boxer Rescue, Saint Frances, Kind Keeper, All About Animals Rescue and Transport, and All 4 Paws.
Veterans Day ribbon‑cutting
To honor Alsadiq’s service, Woofie’s will hold a ribbon‑cutting ceremony with the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce on Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m.
