Star, Idaho – After four years of hard work, The Autism House is set to open Idaho’s first autism resource center in Star on Wednesday, November 11. The new center, located at 200 N. Seneca Springs Way, Suite 102, aims to give families dealing with autism a place to find support, resources, and community.
Founders’ personal mission
Founder Dana Batts and her husband were inspired by their own experience raising a daughter on the autism spectrum. They recognized how isolating the journey can feel and wanted to create a welcoming space where families could connect, ask questions, and share resources.
Services and programs
The center will provide a range of free services, including one‑on‑one support, social groups, and educational classes. Topics covered will range from individualized education plans (IEPs) and estate planning to music therapy, speech and language development, and understanding ADA laws. One highlighted program, “Coffee Connects,” invites parents to meet over coffee for informal conversation and mutual encouragement.
Grand opening details
The grand opening celebration runs from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on November 11. Attendees are welcome to tour the facility, meet staff, and learn about the programs available. The Autism House is also seeking sponsors for the center; sponsorship opportunities close on Monday, November 2.
Fundraising challenge
During the opening, a fundraising challenge will award a $250 Scheels gift card to the individual or team that raises the most money. Details are posted on The Autism House’s social media pages, and the winner will be announced at the event.
