Steve Womack secures fourth term representing Arkansas’ 3rd Congressional District

Northwest Arkansas voters reaffirmed their support for Republican incumbent Steve Womack on Tuesday, as he captured 54.6% of the vote in the 3rd Congressional District race. With 92% of precincts reporting, Womack tallied 118,773 votes, outpacing Democratic challenger Robb Ryerse, who earned 94,401 votes (41.7%), and Libertarian candidate Bobby Wilson, who received 8,413 votes (3.6%).

Candidate backgrounds and campaign themes

Womack, first elected to the U.S. House in 2010 after serving as mayor of Rogers, has chaired the House Budget Committee and consistently advocated for policies that support families and businesses in the fast‑growing region. His campaign highlighted continued economic opportunity, infrastructure investment, and a strong national defense.

Robb Ryerse, a pastor from Springdale, entered the race as the Democratic nominee after previously seeking the Republican nomination for the same seat in 2018. His platform focused on raising wages, expanding economic opportunity, and improving access to health care for Arkansans.

Bobby Wilson, a resident of Bentonville, ran as the Libertarian nominee for a second consecutive election, offering voters a third‑party alternative that emphasized limited government and personal liberty.

Key issues discussed during the campaign

The candidates addressed a range of topics important to constituents, including immigration enforcement, the ongoing conflict with Iran, the impact of artificial intelligence on jobs, housing affordability, and the effects of rapid growth on Northwest Arkansas. While their positions diverged on federal policy, each candidate stressed the need for responsible governance that protects families and upholds constitutional principles.

Implications for the district

Womack’s victory ensures continued representation by a seasoned legislator familiar with the district’s unique challenges and opportunities. His seniority in Congress positions him to influence budgetary decisions that can benefit local infrastructure projects, schools, and small businesses. The result also reflects the district’s prevailing preference for conservative leadership that aligns with traditional family values and individual liberty.

Ryerse’s strong showing demonstrates a growing appetite among some voters for a more progressive agenda focused on health care and wage growth, while Wilson’s modest share indicates a stable, though limited, base for libertarian ideas in the area.

Looking ahead

As the 118th Congress convenes, Rep. Womack will join his colleagues in shaping legislation that addresses both national concerns and the specific needs of Northwest Arkansas. Constituents can expect continued advocacy for policies that promote economic development, protect constitutional freedoms, and support the region’s families and businesses.
