BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — Six Texas men have been federally indicted in connection with an alleged armed home robbery in Broken Arrow that authorities say involved approximately 70 pounds of illegal marijuana.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Oklahoma announced the indictments Thursday, Aug. 27.
Federal prosecutors identified the defendants as Jabriel Williams, 33; Darius Devvoin Hinton, 28; Blake Alexander Calvillo, 25; Nathan Haywood Strong, 36; Remond Reeshon Williams, 39, all of Dallas; and Jeremy Romel Conner, 44, of Athens, Texas.
According to federal court documents, the men are charged with conspiracy to commit Hobbs Act robbery in connection with what prosecutors describe as an interstate robbery conspiracy.
Authorities allege members of the group traveled to a Broken Arrow residence, kicked in a door while wearing masks, carried a firearm and struck an occupant before stealing roughly 70 pounds of illegal marijuana.
Part of the alleged robbery was captured by a residential video security system, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Federal prosecutors said the defendants have been detained pending trial.
An indictment is an allegation, and defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
The case adds another federal dimension to law-enforcement efforts involving illegal marijuana activity in northeastern Oklahoma. The investigation and prosecution are being handled through the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Oklahoma.
