It has been a banner season for Sheridan’s student-athletes, coaches, and schools — and the recognition just keeps rolling in.
US News has ranked Sheridan High School the #1 high school in Wyoming, a distinction that reflects the hard work of students, teachers, and staff across the district. The achievement is even more impressive in a regional context: three other north-central Wyoming high schools also earned spots in the state’s top 25, signaling that academic excellence runs deep across the area.
Adding to the celebratory mood, Beck Haswell of Sheridan High School has won the 2026 Boys Milward Simpson Award, one of Wyoming’s most prestigious honors for a high school student-athlete. The award recognizes outstanding achievement in both academics and athletics, and Haswell’s selection is a proud moment for the Sheridan community.
The accolades don’t stop with students. Four Sheridan County coaches were named Coach of the Year for Spring 2026, honoring the dedicated men and women who guide young athletes on and off the field. Their recognition underscores the culture of mentorship and commitment that has helped make Sheridan-area sports programs a consistent source of community pride.
On top of all that, five athletes and two coaches from north-central Wyoming have been selected to participate in the 2026 WCA All-Star Games — a fitting capstone to a spring season full of standout performances.
Together, these honors paint a picture of a community that invests deeply in its young people — and reaps the rewards in classrooms, on fields, and across the state. Congratulations to all of Sheridan’s honorees!
