FORT WAYNE, Indiana – Science Central is opening its doors to adults for a Western‑themed fundraising night on Friday, November 6. The “Spirit Trail” Expedition: Mixology event runs from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the museum’s 1950 North Clinton Street location and is presented by Fort Wayne Metals.
What to expect
Guests will travel an interactive adventure through the museum’s exhibits, taking part in games, challenges and prize opportunities. A cocktail competition will showcase bartending teams from Edwin Coe, The Abstract, The Besores and Connor’s Kitchen & Bar, with additional participants to be announced.
Live entertainment includes country and Western‑inspired music from Jess Thrower, a Western‑attire contest, custom denim shopping with Nuttin’ But Denim, and permanent jewelry crafted by a local artisan. Attendees can enjoy both alcoholic cocktails and non‑alcoholic mocktails, along with heavy appetizers provided by ObiCai.
Silent auction and matching donation
A silent auction opens Sunday, November 1, featuring items such as a trip along Kentucky’s Bourbon Trail. The auction is open to the public; participants do not need a ticket to place bids. In addition, a supporter has pledged to match up to $5,000 of funds raised during the evening, excluding ticket sales.
VIP experience
VIP ticket holders receive early museum access and entry to an exclusive lounge inside the Science On a Sphere exhibit. While tickets for the W2 Whisky Lounge have sold out, organizers note a separate whisky‑tasting experience will be available on the museum’s main floor.
Why it matters
Proceeds from Expedition: Mixology will help Science Central continue its mission of providing hands‑on science education throughout northeast Indiana. The nonprofit museum serves more than 140,000 children and adults each year through exhibits, school programs and community events.
Tickets and additional event details are available at ScienceCentral.org. The fundraiser underscores the community’s commitment to enriching educational opportunities while offering a fun, family‑friendly evening for adults.
