Mobile, Ala. – At a donor‑recognition event held at Magnolia Manor, the local Ronald McDonald House announced a brand refresh that includes a new name, logo and tagline. The facility, which provides a home‑away‑from‑home for families with children receiving care at USA Health Children’s and Women’s Hospital, will now be known as Ronald McDonald House Mobile.
Community support at the heart of the mission
Executive Director Paul Giardina highlighted the essential role of the Mobile community in keeping the house operating. “This community supports us in so many ways—whether it’s the McDonald’s restaurants in our area, individuals who bring us tab tops, or even a gallon of bleach for our laundry rooms—we could not support all these families without the community,” Giardina said.
The house contains 38 guest rooms, each costing roughly $55 per night to operate. Families are not charged for their stay; the cost is covered entirely by donations and volunteer contributions.
New branding reflects a focus on families
Alongside the name change, the organization introduced a new logo and the tagline “Family stays.” The phrase underscores the house’s core purpose: to give families a stable, comforting environment while their children receive medical treatment.
How locals can help
Donors can support Ronald McDonald House Mobile in several ways. One simple option is the “round‑up” program, which allows customers to add a small amount to their bill when purchasing a meal at any McDonald’s restaurant. Those contributions go directly to the house’s operating budget.
Local businesses, churches, and individual volunteers also play a vital role, providing everything from food donations to laundry supplies. Giardina expressed gratitude for the ongoing generosity, noting that the house’s ability to remain free of charge for families depends on that collective effort.
Looking ahead
With the refreshed brand in place, Ronald McDonald House Mobile aims to expand its outreach and continue offering a safe, supportive space for families navigating the challenges of serious childhood illness. The organization plans to host additional fundraising events throughout the year and encourages community members to get involved.
