Madison, Wis. – Ronald McDonald House Madison announced a new visual identity on Monday, unveiling a modern logo and color palette designed to clearly communicate its family‑centered mission. The rebrand, announced by CEO Stephanie Hayden, reflects the organization’s long‑standing commitment to supporting families whose children receive care at local hospitals.
Brand refresh puts families at the forefront
“We’re putting families at the center of care, so our rebrand really reflects that,” Hayden said. “It’s a modernized brand, but really it’s more about putting families at the center of our care, which is what we do every day.” The new look aims to be simple, recognizable, and instantly understandable for anyone who sees it in the community.
Mission remains unchanged
Hayden reiterated the core purpose of the house: “It’s pretty simple: We care for families so they can care for their ill or injured child.” The nonprofit operates a 31‑room house that frequently runs above capacity, providing a home‑like environment for families staying near the University of Wisconsin Hospital and other regional medical centers.
Hotel partners fill the gap when rooms are full
Through the “Room for Comfort” program, local hotels partner with Ronald McDonald House Madison to offer additional lodging when the house reaches capacity. “Without those hotel partners, families would’ve been sleeping in their cars or maybe sleeping in the hospital rooms with their kids,” Hayden explained. “The fact that we have that here in Madison, where we don’t have to put people on a wait list or turn them away, is really great.”
Growth in demand drives need for more partnerships
Last year the house turned away 785 families due to limited space. Hayden said the rebrand will help attract more hotel partners and community supporters, reducing the number of families who must seek alternative accommodations. “A couple years ago we were at 110 % capacity; we’re at 121 % now, so we are seeing more and more families coming here to Madison for the specialized care that we have,” she noted.
Looking ahead
The organization plans to continue expanding its network of hotel partners and to explore additional fundraising initiatives to increase the number of rooms available. Community members are encouraged to learn more about the new brand and support the house’s mission through donations, volunteer work, or by offering hotel rooms through the “Room for Comfort” program.
