Ringgold continued its winning streak with a commanding 56-14 triumph over Albert Gallatin (AG) in a Class 4A Big Six Conference football game on Friday night at Joe Montana Stadium in Monongahela, Pa.
Offensive fireworks
Ringgold’s offense exploded early, scoring on its opening drive with a 4‑yard run by Roman Smith capped by Eli Fisher’s extra point. The Rams answered quickly, with Nick Stasko breaking a 40‑yard run on the first play from scrimmage and scoring two plays later. Stasko finished with three touchdowns and 121 rushing yards on just 10 carries.
Quarterback Jace Trumpe was efficient, completing 7 of 8 passes for 202 yards, including a 32‑yard strike to Dennis Hawkins III that set up another score. Trumpe also connected with Demetri Lowe for a 19‑yard touchdown and later found him on a 72‑yard shovel pass for a quick lead‑changing score.
Defensive highlights
AG’s Demetri Lowe provided a spark for the Colonials, returning a fumble 40 yards for a touchdown to narrow the gap to 35‑14. However, Ringgold’s defense held firm, forcing turnovers and limiting AG’s scoring opportunities.
Albert Gallatin’s defense made a key stop early in the third quarter, but Ringgold responded with a series of touchdowns, including a 3‑yard run by Dezire Satterfield and a 28‑yard pass from Trumpe to Hawkins.
Coaches’ comments
Ringgold coach Drew Dindl praised his team’s resilience, noting the “long and lanky” nature of Lowe that helped the Colonials on the fumble return. Dindl also reflected on the program’s growth, saying, “Nine years ago, not making the playoffs wouldn’t have even been a thought here. I’m proud the standard has changed, but we can’t be satisfied. We must keep building and raising that standard.”
AG coach Bronx Jamison acknowledged the loss, emphasizing the need for cleaner, more disciplined play after injuries and penalties hampered his squad.
Looking ahead
Ringgold improves to 5‑3 overall and remains tied atop the conference standings at 3‑0. The Rams will next host their rival Laurel Highlands, while Albert Gallatin returns home to regroup after a challenging outing.
