According to Community Impact, Richardson residents may cast their ballots during early voting from Oct. 19 through Oct. 30, giving voters a two‑week window to vote before the Nov. 3 midterm election.
Dallas County voters can use any early‑voting site in the county, and the city hosts three locations: the Arzell Ball Center at 410 S. Greenville Ave., the Islamic Association of North Texas at 840 Abrams Rd., and Ministerios Charisma at 740 Melrose Drive. All sites operate from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day, except on Sunday, Oct. 25, when they will be open from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Collin County voters who live in Richardson must travel to nearby early‑voting sites, as the county has no locations within the city limits. Community Impact listed the Renner Frankford Branch Library (6400 Frankford Road, Dallas), Liberty Recreation Center (2601 Glencliff Drive, Plano) and Harrington Library (1501 18th Street, Plano) as the closest options. Hours for Collin County sites vary by day.
The midterm ballot will include federal, state and local races. Voters will decide U.S. Senate and Texas governor contests, as well as lieutenant governor and attorney general races. All 38 U.S. House seats are up, with District 24 featuring Republican incumbent Beth Van Duyne against Democratic challenger Kevin Burge, and District 32 pitting Democrat Dan Barrios against Republican Jace Yarbrough. All 150 Texas House seats are also on the ballot, including District 112 and District 70, which cover parts of Richardson.
Local measures appear as well. Dallas County voters will consider a proposed tax increase aimed at addressing homelessness. Collin County voters will see two bond proposals: an $817.5 million bond for the county’s jail, courthouse, roads, parks and a new elections facility, and a $600 million Collin College bond to expand eight campuses and build two new ones.
Individuals who qualify for mail voting must request their ballot by Oct. 23, according to Community Impact. On Election Day, all polling locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and both Dallas and Collin counties will add additional sites in Richardson and surrounding areas.
