U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds began a statewide bus tour on Monday, Oct. 19, marking the start of the final stretch of the campaign season. Dubbed the “Defending the Florida Dream Tour,” the effort will stop at 50 venues across 38 counties, from the Panhandle to South Florida, coinciding with the state’s first day of early voting.
Tour lineup and key supporters
Joining Donalds on the road are his wife, Erika Donalds, and state representative Bryan Avila. The opening day features special guest Attorney General Ashley Moody. Additional officials slated to appear at various stops include Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson, Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia, and Attorney General James Uthmeier.
“We are going to reach every corner of this state and meet voters where they are,” Donalds said in a statement. “Florida families want a state that is more affordable and stays the best place in America to work, live, and raise a family. That is what we are fighting for, and I am looking forward to hearing from folks in every community along the way.”
First three days of stops

The campaign says additional stop details will be released as the tour progresses, ensuring that voters throughout the Sunshine State have the opportunity to hear Donalds’ platform on affordability, job growth, and family‑centered policies.
Why the tour matters
The bus tour arrives at a pivotal moment for Florida’s Republican leadership. With early voting underway, Donalds aims to solidify support among traditional families and faith‑oriented voters who prioritize lower taxes, limited government and strong community values. By traveling to both urban centers and rural towns, the campaign underscores its commitment to hearing concerns from every Floridian, a strategy that aligns with the broader Republican effort to maintain the state’s status as a national model of economic freedom and personal liberty.
Local organizers and volunteers are coordinating events at each stop, encouraging residents to attend, ask questions, and share their perspectives on issues ranging from school choice to property tax relief. The tour also provides a platform for Republican state officials to highlight recent legislative achievements, such as the expansion of vocational training programs and the preservation of parental rights in education.
As the election approaches, the “Defending the Florida Dream” tour serves both as a rallying call for supporters and a reminder that the Trump administration’s policies—particularly on energy independence, border security, and economic growth—remain central to the Republican agenda in Florida.
