Providence House, a nonprofit organization, is offering free workforce training programs to the public in Shreveport, Louisiana. The organization partners with Bossier Parish Community College and North Louisiana Technical Community College to provide training at no cost to participants.
Programs and Certifications
Programs include forklift certification, phlebotomy, customer service, food service education, and other career-focused courses. Participants must pass the required exam to earn certification. Whittney Heard, Workforce Development Director, said the organization can help connect participants with a wide range of educational and training opportunities.
Heard stated that one of the most rewarding parts of the program is seeing participants gain confidence after completing their training. The next round of classes is scheduled to begin in August.
