Person Airlifted After Industrial Accident at Boone Ready Mix in Burlington

BOONE READY MIX – A serious industrial accident occurred Saturday morning at the Boone Ready Mix concrete facility located at 1658 Production Drive in Burlington, Kentucky. According to the Burlington Fire Department, a worker became trapped in an industrial auger, resulting in severe injuries that crushed several of the individual’s limbs.

Firefighters and emergency‑medical personnel arrived promptly and were forced to extract the victim from the auger using specialized rescue equipment. Once the extraction was complete, the injured person was stabilized on‑scene and prepared for transport.

Because of the extent of the injuries, the victim was airlifted by helicopter to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for advanced medical care. First responders reported that the individual remained conscious after the incident, though the exact condition and prognosis have not been released.

The cause of the accident has not yet been determined. Officials have not provided details on how the auger malfunctioned or what safety protocols were in place at the time of the incident. The Burlington Fire Department indicated that additional information will be released as the investigation proceeds.

Boone Ready Mix is a local concrete supplier that serves the Greater Cincinnati area. The plant’s location on Production Drive places it within an industrial zone of Burlington, a city that has seen growth in manufacturing and construction activities in recent years.

Local authorities emphasized the importance of workplace safety and urged other industrial facilities to review their equipment maintenance procedures. The incident underscores the risks faced by workers handling heavy machinery and the critical role of emergency services in responding to such emergencies.

Community members expressed concern for the injured worker and praised the rapid response of the Burlington Fire Department and medical teams. The hospital has not yet issued a statement regarding the victim’s treatment plan or expected recovery timeline.

As the investigation continues, the Burlington Fire Department and Boone Ready Mix are expected to cooperate fully with any state occupational‑safety inquiries. Updates will be provided as more details become available.
