The park is genuinely accessible from multiple neighborhoods. Woodley Park, Cleveland Park, Adams Morgan, and Chevy Chase all border it or sit within easy walking distance. There is free parking at several trailheads if you are driving in from farther out. The park is open year-round, and every season brings something worth seeing — spring wildflowers carpeting the creek banks, summer shade so dense it feels air-conditioned, autumn color that rivals anything New England has to offer, and winter mornings when a light frost on the trail makes the whole forest look like something from a fairy tale.
