Anchorage – On Wednesday, Nov. 11, Nuvision Credit Union is joining American Legion Jack Henry Post 1 for its eighth annual Veterans Day Appreciation Luncheon. The free event, held from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Legion’s headquarters at 840 W Fireweed Ln, will provide more than 300 complimentary meals for veterans, active‑duty service members, their families and guests.
Celebrating Service and Sacrifice
Attendees will enjoy a sit‑down lunch, connect with fellow service members, and receive personal recognition for their contributions to the nation. The luncheon underscores Nuvision’s long‑standing commitment to Alaska’s military community, a commitment reflected in its partnership with the American Legion and its ongoing community‑service initiatives.
Support for the Veterans Health Summit
In addition to the meal program, Nuvision will present a $2,500 donation to the Legion’s Veterans Health Summit. The contribution is earmarked to expand resources and support services for Alaska’s veteran population, reinforcing the credit union’s focus on health and well‑being for those who have served.
How to Attend
There is no cost to attend, but advance registration is strongly encouraged to secure a seat. Guests must bring proof of service—such as a DD214, VA or military ID, American Legion membership card, or an Alaska state ID with a veteran designation.
Voices from the Community
“Veterans Day gives us an opportunity to personally thank the men and women who have answered the call to serve our country,” said Roger Ballard, CEO of Nuvision Credit Union. “We are honored to bring veterans, their families and our community together to recognize their service and sacrifices and remind them how much they mean to all of us.”
