The North Texas Performing Arts (NTPA) organization revealed the winners of its 2026 North Texas Got Talent competition on Sunday, highlighting the vibrant artistic talent emerging from the region.
Senior Division Champion
Sydnee Hawkins, a powerhouse vocalist from the Senior Division, secured the top prize of $1,000 for her outstanding vocal performance. Hawkins will showcase her talent again at the fifth annual NTPA Stardust Awards on November 7, held at the Plano Event Center.
Junior Division Champion
The Junior Division title went to Airbourne Tex, a teenage rock band composed of Maryanne Hilton of Plano, Jaxton Weatherly of Frisco, and Lucas Rehl of Prosper. Their high‑energy rock set earned them first place and a spot on the Stardust Awards program.
Other Notable Placements
In the Junior Division, Alexia Orta placed second with a traditional folklórico routine, while Reagan Hammond earned third place as a vocalist. The Senior Division saw Taryn Hernandez take second place as a vocalist and Graham Brown receive third place for his comedy‑magic act.
Community Impact
“We are continually amazed by the quality and variety of talent we see across North Texas,” said NTPA CEO Darrell Rodenbaugh in an official statement. “This competition gives performers an opportunity to share their talent while giving our community the chance to discover and celebrate some truly exceptional artistic gifts.”
The competition, which began as an online showcase during the pandemic, has grown into a live event that draws performers from across the North Texas region. It provides a platform for singers, musicians, dancers, and other entertainers to present their skills before a panel of judges and a supportive audience.
Looking Ahead
Following the competition, NTPA will host its fifth annual Stardust Awards on November 7 at the Plano Event Center. The black‑tie celebration honors individuals and organizations that have contributed to the region’s performing‑arts community, while also raising funds for scholarships, theater improvements, and NTPA operations.
With a new permanent home in Plano after relocating from The Shops at Willow Bend, NTPA is poised to expand its outreach and continue offering opportunities for local artists to thrive.
