Mobile County is beginning its fall Operation Clean Sweep this weekend, giving residents a convenient opportunity to dispose of household trash that doesn’t belong in regular curbside pickup. The first event runs on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 1113 Hubert Pierce Road in Mobile, according to Fox 10.
County officials require proof of Mobile County residency and limit each household to a single load of trash. The program does not accept business waste, dump trailers, or hazardous materials. Participants are instructed to secure their loads with a tarp, bungee cords, or netting before transporting them to the site to prevent debris from becoming litter on the road.
Two additional Operation Clean Sweep events are planned for the county. The second event will take place on Nov. 7 at 12740 U.S. Highway 43 North in Axis, and the third is scheduled for Dec. 5 at 7195 Half Mile Road in Irvington. Both will operate the same hours—7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.—and follow the same residency and load‑limit rules.
Operation Clean Sweep is part of the county’s broader fall cleanup program, aimed at helping residents keep neighborhoods tidy while reducing illegal dumping. By providing designated drop‑off sites, the county hopes to divert waste from streets and waterways, supporting a cleaner environment for families and local businesses.
Residents who plan to attend should bring a valid form of identification confirming Mobile County residency, such as a driver’s license or utility bill. The county’s website offers a detailed list of acceptable items and further guidance on preparing loads for transport.
What’s next: After the Saturday event, Mobile residents can look forward to the Axis location on Nov. 7 and the Irvington site on Dec. 5. County officials encourage anyone with excess trash to take advantage of these free services before the end of the year.
