The Las Cruces community will enjoy a festive musical celebration this holiday season when the Mesilla Valley Chorale takes the stage at the historic Rio Grande Theatre on Sunday, Dec. 13, at 3 p.m. The concert, titled “A Treasured Past‑A New Beginning,” showcases a blend of beloved Christmas classics and seasonal favorites.
Program Highlights
Concertgoers can expect a rich repertoire that includes the solemn hymn “O Come Emmanuel,” the upbeat standard “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” the uplifting anthem “One Voice,” a whimsical reading of “’Twas the Night Before Christmas,” and the cheerful tune “Winter’s on Its Way.” The mixed‑voice ensemble, directed by longtime conductor Diane Schutz, will perform eight‑part choral arrangements that highlight the choir’s depth and versatility.
Ticket Information
Admission is $10 for adults, seniors, and students. Tickets are available now through the choir’s website at mesillavalleychorale.org. For those who prefer to purchase in person, a limited number of tickets may be sold at the door on the day of the concert, though the organization encourages advance purchases because past performances have frequently sold out.
