Jackson, WY — On Friday, Oct. 30, the Center for the Arts in partnership with KHOL (Jackson Hole Community Radio) will stage the third annual Wyoming Artists Showcase. The event brings together a diverse lineup of regional musicians who have earned spots on KHOL’s popular “Intermountain Best” radio program.
Showcase lineup
Church Bats – The alt‑rock group from Jackson began as a casual gathering of coworkers and has evolved into a high‑energy band known for heavy, dance‑able songs. Founding members David Gorka and Andrew Skinner teamed up with bassist Louis Grassell to blend classic garage rock with psychedelic and groove influences.
De Gringos y Gremmies – Originally the Laramie trio Custom Caravans, the musicians reunited in 2017 under a new name. Their sound mixes surf, tiki and western flavors into a spaghetti‑infused garage rock style. The group features Shane Wallace (guitar, vocals), Dusty Richards (bass, baritone guitars) and Dan Walker (drums, percussion).
Bryan Piironen (My Model Airplane) – Piironen’s Wilson‑based rock trio records with a DIY ethos, delivering noisy, melodic lo‑fi rock. For the showcase he will perform a solo set recreating the original demo sounds from his debut album “The Loft,” recorded at home and released in Dec. 2025.
Missy Jo – Born and raised in Jackson Hole, Melissa Elliott performs under the name Missy Jo. Her songwriting explores everyday observations, romance amid apocalypse, thrift‑shopping culture and personal stories such as being barred from a small‑town post office. Listeners can expect genre‑blending arrangements and a soulful vocal delivery.
Event details
The showcase will be hosted by KHOL’s Music Director Evan Ballew, who curates “Intermountain Best” by selecting standout tracks from Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Idaho and Montana and arranging live studio sessions and interviews. The event begins at 7:00 p.m. at the Center for the Arts, located in downtown Jackson.
Tickets are available online through the Center’s website and at the box office on the night of the show. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and students, and free for children 12 and under.
Community impact
By highlighting home‑grown talent, the Wyoming Artists Showcase supports the local arts ecosystem and provides a platform for musicians to reach wider audiences. The partnership with KHOL reinforces the station’s commitment to promoting regional culture and giving listeners a chance to hear live performances that reflect the unique spirit of the high plains.
Local businesses are also expected to benefit from increased foot traffic, as concert‑goers often dine at nearby restaurants and shop at downtown retailers before and after the show.
