Indiana 2026 Primary Election Results: What Small Businesses Need to Know

May 7, 2026

Learn more about this week’s primary election

The 2026 Indiana primary election stood out as an unusually consequential and distinctive cycle, defined by a surge of outside financial involvement – especially in Indiana Senate contests. Even amid a turbulent political climate and well-funded opposition, NFIB delivered a strong performance of candidates aligned with small business issues.

Of the 26 candidates endorsed by NFIB, 18 advanced to the general election and two are still pending. While this unprecedented primary brought many wins for the small business community, five endorsed candidates were unsuccessful. The substantial level of spending aimed at unseating long-standing pro-small business legislators in the Senate signals an evolving political environment that demands continued advocacy and support in the general election.
