The 38th annual Holiday Market opened Thursday evening in Montgomery, giving River Region families a one‑stop destination for early Christmas shopping. Hosted by the Junior League of Montgomery at the Multiplex at Cramton Bowl (220 Hall St.), the three‑day event runs through Saturday, Oct. 17.
Local vendors and festive atmosphere
Shoppers wandered among a diverse lineup of vendors offering everything from handcrafted jewelry and candles to clothing for all ages and holiday decorations. Food stalls served seasonal treats, and adult‑friendly beverage stations provided a relaxed setting for parents to enjoy the festivities.
Live music filled the venue, creating a lively backdrop as families explored the market. “We have unique vendors from across the country as well as some local, so you can get your holiday shopping kicked off and out of the way in one stop,” said Amerika Blair, President of the Junior League of Montgomery.
Free admission for the first 100 visitors
Chairwoman Yolanda Poole announced special promotions for the first 100 guests each day. “Our president and her husband are sponsoring the first 100 people for free tomorrow. We open tomorrow at 11 a.m., so if they want to come in tomorrow, they can get in free. Friday, we’re also letting the first 100 people in free sponsored by Cheesecake Empori‑Yum,” Poole told Action 8.
Saturday’s schedule includes a “breakfast with Santa” from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., giving children a chance to meet the holiday icon while parents continue to shop.
Supporting a good mission
All proceeds benefit the Junior League’s charitable mission, which focuses on education, community service, and women’s leadership. “It’s something fun for everyone to do, from the non‑profit and education appreciation to ladies night on Friday and our family fun day on Saturday,” Blair added.
General admission is $5, with free entry for the first 100 visitors each day as described above. The market provides a safe, family‑friendly environment for Montgomery residents to celebrate the season while supporting local businesses and nonprofit causes.
