Henderson, Nev. – Tammy Wood, owner of the boutique Vegas Crystal Healings and More, says she has new video evidence that the same individual who shoplifted from her store in May returned on Thursday to take more merchandise.
Surveillance shows repeat theft
Wood explained that the store’s cameras, which cover every aisle and corner, recorded a woman placing a white book and several rolls of charcoal into her purse. In a separate angle, the woman was seen looking up at a camera before exiting the premises.
“I’m even more irritated. I’m just astonished that she would have the guts to come back again,” Wood told reporters.
Owner’s response and police involvement
While Wood was attending an event next door, employees texted her about the suspicious behavior. She returned to the store, reviewed the footage, and recognized the woman from the May incident. Wood also noted that the woman tried to purchase items she was already carrying but left before completing the transaction, saying she needed to go to the bank.
After the woman left, Wood followed her outside to photograph the vehicle. The car, which bore temporary license plates, matched the one seen in the earlier theft. Wood promptly shared the new video with Henderson police, who reviewed the material but have not yet identified a registered owner for the vehicle.
Potential charges and next steps
Wood said the first theft involved enough value to be considered grand larceny. She is still inventorying the store to determine the total loss from Thursday’s incident. “This time I’m going to catch her, this time we’re going to catch her,” she affirmed.
Police have not announced whether they will file charges at this stage, but they are reviewing the evidence and will continue the investigation.
Community impact
Shoplifting incidents like this affect small businesses throughout Henderson, raising concerns about loss prevention and public safety. Wood’s proactive use of surveillance technology highlights how local merchants can work with law enforcement to protect their livelihoods.
Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to Henderson police. The department thanked Wood for her cooperation and reiterated its commitment to investigating thefts promptly.
