Heath, Texas – The City of Heath is launching the holiday season with a family‑focused celebration at Towne Center Park, located at 1000 Festival Street. The event runs from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23, and includes a lineup of activities designed to bring neighbors together and support local parks.
What to expect
Visitors will be greeted by the inaugural Candy Cane Lane Christmas Market, where local artisans and vendors will offer handmade gifts, seasonal decorations, and holiday foods. A portion of the market’s proceeds will benefit Parks and Trails of Heath (PATH), helping to maintain and expand the city’s green spaces.
The centerpiece of the evening is the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6 p.m. City officials will gather to switch on a towering evergreen, symbolizing the start of the town’s holiday festivities. The lighting will be accompanied by live music from local bands, creating a warm, communal atmosphere.
Family‑friendly attractions
Children can enjoy a variety of rides, including miniature trains, a classic carousel, and a Ferris wheel. Santa Claus will be on hand, along with his live reindeer, for photo opportunities that families can cherish for years to come.
Food trucks will line the park, offering a range of holiday treats such as hot cocoa, gingerbread, and savory snacks. For adults, Standard Service will serve holiday‑themed cocktails and culinary delights, with a portion of sales also supporting PATH.
Community impact
The event underscores Heath’s commitment to fostering a vibrant, family‑oriented community while investing in public amenities. By directing market proceeds to PATH, the city aims to enhance trail maintenance, improve park facilities, and expand programming for residents of all ages.
Mayor [Mayor’s Name] praised the collaboration between the city, local businesses, and volunteers, noting that “events like this bring our community together, celebrate our traditions, and fund the parks that make Heath a wonderful place to raise a family.”
Practical details
The celebration is free and open to the public. Parking is available in the Towne Center lot, and the venue is wheelchair‑accessible. Attendees are encouraged to dress warmly and bring reusable water bottles, as the event will be outdoors.
